Fish Traveler Guide Service, Eagle Lake Fishing Report for Sunday, July 25, 2010

Howdy Folks,
No report sent Sunday, July, 18.

Transition time appears to be over. The Eagle Lake Trout seem to have arrived in the areas of the lake where they will spend the warmer summer months. We have adjusted our fishing methods to give 'em what they want at new water depths and new locations around the lake.

Surface water temperature has risen to 74 degrees. Trollers are catching fish consistently at 25-30 feet deep. Bobber fishermen are also finding good success with nightcrawlers set at 30 feet.

Trolling:
The best trolling for this past week has been on the east side of the lake in water 50-60 feet deep. Sep's #2 Watermelon grubs have again, moved into the drivers seat as the best grub. Hardware-wise, try hot orange/gold or red/gold spoons. Troll both the grubs and spoons at 25-30. Best trolling areas are the Miners Bay area and further south from there off Eagles Nest.

Fly Fishing:
Still catching good numbers of fish fly fishing this week in 12 feet of water, believe it or not. Good numbers = 10+ fish per rod per day.

Bobber Fishing:
Bobber fishing has been very, very good for those fishermen that fish EARLY. I had a grandpa and three grandsons this week. I don't usually bobber fish but I took this crew and we had a ball with multiple hook ups and quick action. Bobber fishing is best in 50-60 feet of water with nightcrawlers set at 25-30 feet below the slip bobber. Best areas to fish are anchored up off the east shoreline of the lake near Miners Bay and off Eagles Nest.

Launching:
Launching is no problem at the Salding Launch facility.
